The
tubing from the manifolds on the
previous page connect to the control panel below (when this picture was
taken, only the 4-loop manifold was connected). The control panel,
fabricated by NRT Radiant, is a work of art! I wasn't sure whether to
put it in the living room or the mechanical room! The yellow romex was
a temporary power connection so I could make sure everything was
working before the boiler installers arrived. |

Here is the control panel after the boiler was installed. The
installers from Aiello Home Services did a great job. They actually
went through the trouble of running the power through the back of the
control board to make it look nice. |

This little white box on the north side
of the house is the outdoor sensor. The Tekmar controller on the
control panel uses the outdoor temperature information to run more
efficiently.

And here are some pictures of the
Buderus G115/21 boiler and ST120 indirect water heater. This is oil
fired since natural gas is not available in this neighborhood and I
didn't want to deal with propane tanks. I was skeptical that the ST120
would provide enough hot water, especially since it's only 30 gallons
and our electric hot water heater was 55 gallons, but so far it has
been working great! We have never run out of hot water. |
